Abstract: A study was conducted using the case study of a commercial quadcopter drone to enhance the design of a sustainable product service system. Quadcopter drone was selected as the case study for research and implementation due to rapid increase in the amount of its uses, ranging from leisure activities to professional work. The objective of this report is to improve on sustainability of the quadcopter drone via the development of a new maintenance service framework adapted from structural health monitoring system that has been in use for larger aircraft. The project scope will be on identification of design perimeter to be monitored via methodology of product development model, such as bill of materials of the products, function analysis on the various sub system followed by conducting of failure analysis on the quadcopter drone to identify optimal placement area for sensory equipment to detect failure.
