Title: 3D printing of resistors
Authors: Saravanan Ponmani

Issue Date: 2018
Abstract: The aim of this project was to see the effectiveness and reliability of 3D printed resistors. Currently, there are no reliable 3D printed resistors in the industry. The resistors were printed using an Aerosol Jet Printer. The resistors were printed on a flexible substrate. These resistors were then sintered in a thermal oven at various temperatures to give it electrical properties. Then they were tested with a multi-meter and a Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FESEM) to compare with industry standards. By printing reliable resistors, we can directly print the resistors onto a circuit board without the need for surface mounting. This will cut down on the fabrication and assembly time.
