Issue Date: 2018
Abstract: Drawing or painting traditionally requires artistic skills and expertise – be it digital art or art forms of other mediums. People who have not been formally trained in this field may face difficulties when trying to sketch or draw out their intended object. This project is to investigate how the latest computer techniques can support a non-artist in the domain of digital art forms. Specifically, this project aims to allow the user to roughly sketch an object of interest and then have the actual object composited into a background image chosen by the user. The bulk of the project focus is on testing out various imaging techniques rather than building a fully functional application. Hence, there is only a simple and basic user interface available to show results at this stage. In future, this application can be improved by having more features, better looking resultant images, and faster results. A more user-friendly and visually application can be developed as well.
