Abstract: The advance of internet shopping has revolutionized the whole retail industry. More emphasis has been placed on inventory control and management of the modern warehouse. Fast, reliable and efficient means of stock inventory and delivery are the keys to successful business in this era. More efforts have been made to improve the inventory monitoring by some warehouses and commercial products are available to assist in inventory monitoring such as Drones and integrated Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) systems. However, these products have their drawbacks and further investigation into more viable solution is needed. The project focus on the objective to study the application of next generation advanced sensors for inventory monitoring and application. In order to increase efficiency and decrease operation cost for companies. After researching into the available market solutions and reviewing of theory. A functioning prototype has been developed with integration of RFID technology into a robot that will monitor inventory autonomously, without the drawbacks of current product such as Drones. The prototype performed effectively during the testing and demonstrate potential in further development of the system to make it commercially ready.
