Abstract: This work investigate in terms of shape memory effect (SME) satisfy the requirements for comfort fitting shoes. Many personal wearing items require the personalized fitting for each all, especially footwear and orthopedic device et.al. Recently, shape memory materials (SMM), especially polymeric materials, have begun to gain more and more attention, regardless of the traditional material properties. They have shown new perspectives on material properties by having potential advantages such as new forms of product design, fabrication, and recirculation in various ways. The important advantage of shape memory polymeric materials is that they can be easily fabricated with a specified porosity, significantly reducing density and greatly enhancing flexibility and elasticity. The design of shoes is no left /right and size difference, because the shoes made of shape memory materials, under a certain temperature heating, the shoes will be stretched and changed to the left/right, so that a pair of shoes can meet different sizes of customer. Author designed the sole made of shape memory polymer material, using NX software to build 3D models, analyzed the products with ABAQUS based on the finite element method.
