Abstract: With the rapid development of NarrowBand Internet of Things (NB-IoT), the performance analysis of the NB-IoT system is more and more important. In this project, the NB-IoT narrowband physical downlink shared channel (NPDSCH) system is simulated in MATLAB. Four different operation modes (Inband-Same PCI, Inband-Different PCI, Guard Band and Stand-alone) of NB-IoT are simulated respectively. Two propagation channel models, Rician channel and ISI channel, are built and implemented in the system. NarrowBand Interference (NBI) model is also built and implemented. Finally, the symbol error rate and block error rate of the four different operation modes under the two different propagation channels with or without NBI are obtained respectively, with the performance of each analyzed. According to the results obtained in the project, Guard Band and Stand-alone modes are found to have better performance than Inband-Same PCI and Inband-Different PCImodes, with Rician channel and ISI channel impairing the performance of the system and NBI further degrading the performance.
