Issue Date: 2018
Abstract: With rising concerns of energy depletion as well as environmental pollution from burning fossil fuel. Modern advances in photovoltaic technology make solar power a popular option as an alternative way of energy generation. Furthermore, Singapore has always been creatively managing its resources; NEWater, land reclamation and so on, energy will be an area that is critical to the success of the quality of life to its citizens. With Singapore’s location near the equator, sunlight is widely available, energy can then be yielded easily through solar energy systems. However, due to the scarcity of land, a more viable way would be to integrate a solar energy system into residential areas like HDBs, condominiums or private houses. This project aims to design and develop a small-scale solar energy system for household application. It will incorporate both software and hardware, infusing Arduino as a data acquisition tool to gather information.
