Abstract: Fingerprint collection and analysis can be used for location-based services which requires a greater standard for positioning technology. Recently outdoor positioning is a success. But indoor positioning technologies are still in beginning stages of development. This report will provide an overview of indoor fingerprint positioning based on WIFI. Some indoor positioning technologies like WIFI fingerprint indoor positioning technology is introduced and discussed. Evaluation metrics and influence factors of indoor fingerprint positioning technologies supported by WIFI are introduced. Next strategies and algorithms of fingerprint indoor positioning technologies are analysed in detail and mentioned. Finally, conclusions are derived and in the future possible research interests are discussed. I hope that is report will be first step for those interested in advancing indoor positioning.
