Abstract: Parking can be time-consuming for most drivers from the point when they enter the shopping mall’s car park, looking for a parking lot, retrieving their cars, to exiting the car park. All these will take some time and it will take even longer if the driver has forgotten where he had parked his car. This has shown that parking is inevitably taking up too much time. The aim of this project is to develop a Car Parking Assistance iOS application which will enhance the parking experience of the users and make it a hassle-free experience. It will implement QR code technology into the application to visually show drivers the locations of the empty lots in the car park, help them to memorise the location of their cars, and assist them with payment. On top of that, it can also display the lot availability in shopping malls on a real time basis. As it is an iOS application development, Xcode will be used as the Integrated Development Environment (IDE) and it will be coded in Swift Language. Google Firebase will also be used to keep track of the availability of each lot in a particular car park and the saving of parking lot’s location for each user. This report documents the whole development and implementation process of the application in detail. It will describe the whole process from researching, identifying problems, developing the application, testing and deployment. It will also explain the functionalities of this application and how these functionalities can help drivers to save time when they are parking their cars. But most importantly, this report will show how this application can make parking an enjoyable and hassle-free experience for the users.
