Title: | In pursuit of happiness | Authors: | Foo, Heng Tong | Keywords: | DRNTU::Visual arts and music::Design::Product | Issue Date: | 2019 | Abstract: | In Pursuit of Happiness seeks to uncover the inevitable process of feeling sadness. The act of dispelling sadness is one that is highly misunderstood, so much that one becomes clueless on how to dispel such negativity. Contrary to the title, the subject matter contains little to no happiness. This thesis instead explores the ethos of the manifestation of the negative feeling; how to make sense of this inevitable despondency; and through understanding this disposition investigate on how to pull oneself out of stagnancy. In view of making sense of this sadness disposition, a conceptualized timepiece is designed with the aim to change the perception of the mind through the use of time as a metaphor. [human] Timepiece aims to allow users a notion to contemplate on the realization of their mental state; and through acceptance gain impetus to continue their pursuit of a better alternate reality. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/77322 | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
