Title: | Microphone array design | Authors: | Chiang, Dexter Hai Zhong | Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering::Electrical and electronic engineering::Microelectromechanical systems | Issue Date: | 2019 | Abstract: | This report explores the possibility of creating a microphone array system using market-available digital microelectro-mechanical systems (MEMS) microphones and microcontrollers. The chosen MEMS microphones and microcontroller were manufactured by STMicroelectronics, which were also part of an Open Development Environment (ODE), making the implementation of the array easy and straightforward. Audacity was used to record each microphone channel of the array simultaneously. Subsequently, MATLAB was used to test the array’s functionality of direction finding through the usage of Capon’s Direction of Arrival (DOA) estimation. The estimated angle and the actual angle were compared to evaluate the performance of the array in direction finding. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/77725 | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
