Title: Design of an online research paper review system

Abstract: There is a raise in the number of conferences being held all around the world, and more attendees are attending such conference to share and find out about the latest cutting-edge technology and research. The increasing number of conferences and attendees would translate into more papers are submitted and published along with such events. The need for a faster and more efficient way of reviewing paper is raising on demand. In this project, a server is set up to collect papers and to allow other professionals to evaluate if it should be accepted. It will keep track if the paper is under review or if there is an outcome for the paper. The user is able to involve and access the system with any web browser an email account to receive notifications. In order for the system to always stay online and be accessible, some research has been done on the different server’s software available and choose a suitable server. The Google Server is used to host the functions. It is written in Google App Script which will outline the logic flow of the system in this project. The product of the project is lightweight and consume low computational resources on the host as it is making use of the resources on the cloud server by Google. It will be suitable to be used by both large and small sized organisers to collect and review the paper before deciding the outcome. The report will describe how Apps Script is used to create the functions and integrate the server and clients.
