Abstract

This dissertation examines the causes leading to an extremely" scattered industry with a special reference to the development of cement industry in Longyan City,PRC. An analysis of Longyan cement industry indicates that the industry has been characterized by a large number of small firms, relatively backward production techniques, lack of product competitiveness, and slow in adjusting to loss-making situations.
