dc.description.abstractTraditional food and Beverage industry are facing great challenge in the competitive marketplace, due to the development of technology, digitalisation, and with the changing of consumer preferences. Nowadays, Consumers care more on their health and wellness in an elevated way. They want to know more about the food and the ingredient that they are going to eat. This project is to design an Android mobile application where it works with iBeacons to improve productivity of Food and Beverage industry. I am using iBeacon as a device to send radio signals to nearby smart devices constantly within a certain range. It contains a small amount of data, such as advertisements, menus, health tips etc., to give more information to the consumer. This app is developed using Android Studio Platform, integrated with Estimote Cloud and uses Basic Authentication, to perform the desired features. This app is using three beacons to demonstrate three scenarios, shopping mall main entrance, food court and food store 1. The app will show various happenings, such as meal promotions, shopping e-voucher, discount information, health tips, and etc., to customers at different beacon regions to attract more consumers. It is something like a treasure hunt game, because the customers never know where and what kind of deal that you are going to receive. To summarise, the mobile application has been successfully developed and practically demonstrated.en_US
