Abstract: This final year project report introduces the local energy trading for microgrid. Before applying the algorithm in local energy market, the traditional way of energy trading, load flow for distribution system as well as optimal power flow was studied. Decentralized optimization of energy resources in microgrid was considered and real power consumption of distributed energy resources were analyzed based on the results obtained. After familiarize with the conventional way of energy trading as well as the optimal power flow, algorithms for local energy trading was compiled using MATLAB. Direct approach is implemented to determine the distribution load flow. The market clearing ability of local energy trading system is tested using the compiled code. The results were compared and analyzed between local energy trading with voltage management and without voltage management. Overall, this project includes study on conventional energy trading, load flow on distribution system, optimization of energy resources in microgrid and local energy trading with voltage management
