Abstract: This report summarizes the knowledge and results that the author has learned through the FYP, Tree Monitoring using Millimeter Wave Radar. Overall, the project aims to monitor the tree's sway pattern with the Millimeter Wave Radar. By learning and analyzing the data, a radar system is built to detect those trees that are at risk of collapse in inclement weather. The report includes project background, literature review, hardware selection and prototyping, and software development. This project will deliver two items, an outdoor radar kit and an app designed with MATLAB App Designer. Finally, this report will also show some experimental results, which will help readers better understand the advantages and limitations of this radar monitoring system.
