Fundamental and technical analysis of healthcare stocks in SGX

Abstract

Fundamental Analysis and Technical Analysis are two commonly used techniques by investors to forecast stock returns. Many investors are largely reliant on either of these techniques in their investment predictions. This project aims to examine the correlation between these two types of techniques by combining the use of both techniques in the selection of the best healthcare stocks in Singapore. In-depth analysis of fundamentals of 27 listed healthcare stocks in the SGX will be conducted and subjected to technical analysis testing using Equis Metastock Program. Financial data reports and announcements were retrieved from Singapore Stock Exchange (SGX) and the latest one-year period data from Jun 2017 to Jun 2018 was retrieved from ShareInvestor Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of SPH.
