Title: Catalytic wet air oxidation (CWAO) catalysts for environmental applications

Abstract: MoO3 was synthesized by hydrothermal method, followed by incorporation of realize the magnetic property of the catalyst for easy separation from product water. The catalysts were systematically characterized by XRD, XPS, FESEM, BET, VSM and investigated for ambient condition-catalytic wet air oxidation (AC-CWAO) of organic dye (Safranine O (SO)). Kinetic study showed that the dye degradation followed pseudo-first-order kinetics. Catalyst 10FeM with 10% Fe3O4 incorporation exhibited best dye colour removal efficiency. The mechanism investigation for catalytic activity revealed that superoxide radical (•O2-) is the main active oxidative species during CWAO of dye. >80% dye removal efficiency still can be obtained after five times of reuse indicating that it exhibited a good reusability and catalytic stability.
