Abstract: In manufacturing industries, product quality becomes a crucial factor, especially when facing difficulty in cutting material. Heat generation at the cutting interface is a common problem that turning operations encounter. It affects machining performances such as tool life and the surface quality. Various technologies such as high pressure coolant (HPC) technology have been discovered and implemented to improve the turning operation of hard to cut materials. Recently, atomization cutting fluid (ACF) spray system was seen effective in cooling and lubricating during turning process. Currently, there is no prominent experiment to investigate the ACF effect on HPC technology. Therefore, this report aims to evaluate the effectiveness of an atomizer nozzle with HPC during turning of Inconel 625 with carbide inserts. Experiments are conducted to evaluate machining factors which includes cutting forces, tool wear, chip formation and surface roughness. The results proved that the surface roughness and the flank wear of the carbide tool improve at higher coolant pressure, thus improving the turning of Inconel 625. The average cutting force and chip formation does not change significantly with the coolant pressure.
