dc.description.abstract | According to research, the depth of people’s interactions affects their sense of connection to others which contributed to happiness and life satisfaction [1]. Yet our real-world social circles are limited especially for those who are out of the immediate social circle in school or for those who are busy working, making it challenging and time-consuming to make new friends and meet people with similar interests. This leads to a real sense of loneliness which could impact our health over the long term. The purpose of this project is to develop a hybrid-based mobile app named ‘Jio’ with user’s interests as the focus and thus, to aid in enhancing one’s social interaction. ‘Jio’ is developed in Flutter, which is a hybrid mobile framework that caters for both Android and iOS platforms specially designed for different mobile operating system users. For this instance, ‘Jio’ will target on Android platform due to current hardware limitations. In addition, firebase is used at the backend of the mobile app for data storage. In this report, we will elaborate on the objectives, the technology implemented as well as the fulfilling outcomes towards social interaction achieved through the development of this mobile app. ‘Jio’ is the key to bringing strangers with common interests together, to enjoying activities with another like-minded new friend to bridging lifelong friendship. ‘Jio’ is the light to connecting happiness and life satisfaction. | en_US |
