Issue Date: 2004
Abstract: Companies face the task of reviewing and redesigning their existing distribution network when launching new products or when the market changes. In most cases, companies have inherited their information systems and distribution facility networks from the past. They must therefore decide how to modify the existing network, mainly focusing on inventory, transportation and customer service, to accommodate the new product and the current customer requirements.
