Role and functions of the Press : an examination of Singapore Newspapers in their coverage of Juvenile Delinquency.

Abstract

The role and functions performed by the Singapore press in a national campaign against the rising trend of juvenile delinquency was examined in this study utilising quantitative content analysis. The study filled in the “gaps” in the existing literature by examining the issue both longitudinally and concurrently across the English and Chinese newspapers.
