Title: | Parallel mass storage system | Authors: | Chan, Tony Kai Yun. Lee, Keok Kee. Leong, Peng Chor. Sriskanthan Nadarajah. |
Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering | Issue Date: | 1995 | Abstract: | ParaServe is an intelligent parallel mass storage system. Drawing on the concepts of RAID it utilises arrays of volume production disk drives connected and controlled by a transputer-based network to achieve as a primary objective high I/O performance. These levels of performance are required by systems which provide file and database services, containing especially multimedia data, to a large number of users. The scalability of transputer arrays will provide the processing capabilities for the eventual incorporation of processing facilities like select, join and sort. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/8127 | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
