Abstract: This research paper investigates the differences birthday gift-giving behaviour between Singaporeans and Caucasians, concentrating on the differences in their view of the significance of birthday, the presentation of birthday gifts, money as a birthday gift and gift-returning practices. The purpose is to find out how big a role traditional culture plays in forming our birthday gift-giving behaviour.
