Abstract: Singapore is member of the ASEAN free trade area. In addition, it is deeply involved in negotiations for bilateral free trade agreements with non-ASEAN nations. This issue has been a concern especially for Malaysia, as it believes that trade deflection would occur. In this paper, relevant topics pertaining to this issue were discussed.
