Abstract: This paper attempts to examine the relationship between headquarters’ influence on subsidiaries’ strategy and the extent of cultural control used. Results reveal that headquarters influence subsidiaries’ strategies through influence on mission statement, core values and HR policy. There also exists a relationship between a particular strategy and organisation culture type.
