The implementation of in-situ process controls for AM processes is crucial for achieving consistent quality AM components. This paper explores the control measures required to attain Laser Metal Deposition (LMD) process consistency. LMD was used to form three sets of Stainless Steel AISI 316L block specimens using three different build strategies. Using an in-situ system, the melt pool characteristics were monitored and controlled by the machine. Analysis of the differences in the process control results for each build strategy was conducted. | URI: | https://hdl.handle.net/10356/88573 http://hdl.handle.net/10220/45828 |
