Abstract: This paper examines the propensity of government-linked companies (GLCs) and family-owned companies to achieve transparency by disclosing information in their annual reports. Also, this paper examines the response of the capital market to the different levels of transparency demonstrated by GLCs and family-owned companies, as well as to compare the performance (Earnings per Share) of GLCs and family-owned companies in the Singapore context.
