Abstract: The fundamental question of “Why be ethical?” remains obscured and elusive in accounting ethics literature despite extensive research in the past decade. Our paper attempts to answer this question and has the objective of devising an enhanced tool for the recruitment process, and lastly to “marry” the eastern and western philosophies to further the current construct.
