Role of central banks in mitigating the Asian financial crisis : a comparative analysis.

Abstract

This paper examines and compares the effectiveness of mitigation strategies and policy measures implemented by central banks Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand in overcoming the Asian Financial Crisis. The post-crisis economic performance and political environment are tracked and analyzed using a set of evaluation criteria that measures the effectiveness and efficiency in eradicating the vulnerabilities that led to the crisis.
