Abstract: The rise in unfair practices has prompted the passing of the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act in Singapore recently. The development of the Act is traced and a detailed evaluation of specific areas of the Act such as the three day cooling-off period and the $20,000 cap on claims, among others is also done.
