Abstract: Owing to the widespread deployment of wireless networks and rapidly growing capabilities of mobile devices, there has been an increasing interest in wireless data services. Access efficiency and energy conservation are two important performance concerns in a wireless data broadcast environment. Data indexing techniques are often used to improve the energy efficiency of data accesses on mobile devices by facilitating users to locate respective pieces of data they want. Scheduling techniques, on the other hand, improve the access efficiency. The objective of this project is to investigate the integration of scheduling and indexing in wireless data broadcast.
