Abstract: An on-nanoparticle rolling-circle amplification (nanoRCA) strategy allows the visual detection of 30 molecules of carcinoembryonic antigen with at least 1010-fold selectivity over a range of noncognate proteins. The nanoRCA assay is applicable to the detection of two tumor markers in biological fluids: prostate-specific antigen in spiked sera and interleukin-8 in saliva.
