Abstract: Bright sparks! Hierarchical layered titanate microspherulite particles with large specific surface areas (406 m2 g−1) and excellent adsorption abilities were quickly synthesized by a facile method that simultaneously employed electrochemical anodization and spark discharge of the anodized oxide into a reactive solution.
