dc.description.abstractThis paper presents a 60 GHz voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) for the unlicensed 60 GHz wave applications, based on a 65 nm CMOS process. The post-simulation results shows 1.66 mW output power, –91 dBc/Hz phase noise at 1 MHz offset is realized, and the consumption of the VCO core is 13.1 mW under 1.5 V supply voltage at 60 GHz. The tuning rang of the VCO is from 56.4 GHz to 63.4 GHz; 0.016 mm2 chip area is occupied, and the figure of merit (FOM) of this VCO is as high as –176.8 dBc/Hz.en
