Abstract: Availability of consumer credit increases consumers' purchasing ability but has certain social implications. The legal framework protects the consumer's interests in providing statutory laws. This study analyses certain local statutes concerning consumer credit, particularly for the issues of transparency, terms and conditions, licensing, early settlement, and statutory rights and remedies.
